TOWNSHIP MANAGER/SECRETARY

Salisbury Township (population 13,621), Lehigh County, PA seeks an experienced leader to serve as its next Township Manager/Township Secretary.  The current Township Manager is retiring after nearly 40 years in various positions with the Township.  Salisbury Township is a suburban community, bordering the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem, offering easy access to urban amenities while enjoying suburban tranquility.  Salisbury Township has maintained a small, close-knit community feel while nearby municipalities have experienced growth.  The Township Manager has authority to supervise all day-to-day operations and coordinates the five-member Board of Commissioners and staff.  The Township is looking for a communicative and innovative leader who can continue to bring meaningful change and enhance community services.  The Manager administers an annual budget of $22 million with approximately 64 full-time employees including administration, public works, and police departments, with an additional 50 part-time or seasonal employees. Candidates should have (1) at least 5 years of municipal management experience; (2) knowledge of modern local government management principles; (3) strong organizational and financial skills & planning/land development experience; (4) Bachelor’s Degree; and (5) strong communication skills. Salary $135,000-$160,000 based on experience/qualifications. Excellent benefits.
