Salisbury Hosts PSATC; Patnaik Appointed

Commissioner Patnaik was nominated and selected to serve on the State of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection Low-Level Radioactive Waste Advisory Committee.

On Saturday, August 10th, Salisbury Township hosted the PSATC (Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners) at the newly constructed Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company. The Department graciously provided space and a tour of their facilities to municipal members.

PSATC represents First Class Township’s throughout the State of Pennsylvania, advocating for legislative changes that could potentially impact residents of First-Class Townships. Commissioner Alok Patnaik serves on the PSATC Board, and Commissioner Karol is the Township’s liaison to the Association. The meeting covered a range of topics, including cyber security updates and community outreach options. Representative Milou McKenzie was also in attendance to update the members of legislative issues.

In other news, Commissioner Patnaik was nominated and selected to serve on the State of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection Low-Level Radioactive Waste Advisory Committee. According to its bylaws, this committee reviews proposed regulations, evaluates operator selections, recommends standards and qualifications, and advises the Department on policy development. Of the nineteen members, several represent local governments. Salisbury Township is proud to announce that Commissioner Patnaik was nominated and chosen for this position by the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.
