Salisbury Township’s government social media pages are located within platforms such as Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) that have their own terms of services, privacy policies, and other rules to which users are subject when users visit those pages.
Social Media Comment Policy
We encourage you to share your thoughts as they relate to the topic being discussed in posts where we allow for comment. The views expressed in comments reflect those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official views of Salisbury Township.
To maintain dignity and respect for Salisbury Township and its citizens, we ask that your messages and comments be respectful and considerate. We ask that you follow our posting guidelines set forth below. We will in our sole discretion delete in their entirety comments or posts that:
- contain abusive, vulgar, offensive, threatening or harassing language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups based on race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, or disability;
- are clearly off-topic, that promote services or products, or that promote or oppose any political party, person campaigning for elected office, or any ballot proposition;
- are solicitations or advertisements, to include the promotion of or endorsement of any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency. Similarly, we do not allow attempts to defame or defraud any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency;
- appear to contain copyrighted, trademarked, patented, or proprietary information;
- suggest or encourage illegal activity;
- are apparent spam (the author(s) may be blocked from the page without notice);
- include certain personally identifiable information, such as social security numbers, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers;
- appear to be attempts to file a charge of discrimination with the Township.
Take personal responsibility for your comments, your username and any information provided. Please remember that the content of all comments is immediately released into the public domain, so do not submit anything you do not wish to be broadcast to the general public.
The appearance or sharing of external links on any Salisbury Township social media account does not constitute official endorsement on behalf of Salisbury Township.
Communications posted on our social media pages will not be construed as satisfying requirements for legal notice or service, shall not be considered official public comment, and shall not be construed as an official request for records pursuant to the Right-to-Know Law.
We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time. Continued use of our social media pages following the posting of any modification signifies acceptance of such modification.

Members of the media are asked to pose questions to directly to Salisbury Township at 610-797-4000 or info@salisburylehighpa.gov. Reporters should refrain from submitting questions via social media as comments. Media requests posted as comments will not receive an official response.
